Year 5 Internet Safety Day 2022

Date: 8th Feb 2022 @ 4:53pm

Year 5 Internet Safety Day

Today, children in year 5 discussed the positives and negatives of the internet and addressed concerns about having access to a growing variety of social media platforms and content.

We discussed why there are age restrictions on websites, games and apps for our own protection and what to do if we find ourselves feeling worried or anxious about something we have seen or heard on the internet.

As part of Internet safety day, we explored the UK Safer Internet Centre website:

UK Safer Internet Centre

Here we watched the virtual assembly, found out key information about what we should and shouldn't have access to online, and completed quizzes about what to do in different difficult situations.

We then looked at the social media posters available on our school Internet Safety Tab for more information about keeping safe.
