Vocab, vocab, vocab!

Here in Reception, we encourage the children to use as much new vocabulary as possible. Each week we introduce a new 'Word of the Week', we talk about what the word means, what sounds are in the words, how many syllables in the word and use the word in a sentence. We have a display in the classroom for the children to refer back to and use daily. Today some children sat infront of the display and talked about the words. They then went to the writing area and wrote an 'invitation' as this was this week's word of the week. It was lovely to see the children using this area and applying their learning in the classroom!
