Science - Testing everyday materials!

Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 5:08pm

This week in Science, we conducted an investigation! The Gruffalo needed a new umbrella and asked the children in Year 1 to identify what material they think would be best to use for an umbrella. He specifically asked for the material to be waterproof!

The children tested a variety of different everyday materials including rolls, tissue paper, kitchen rolls, cardboard and a plastic bag. The children concluded which material is waterproof!

The children found that a plastic bag is waterproof and so the Gruffalo should use plastic as the material for his new umbrella! He sure needs it, especially in Manchester!
