Remembrance week

Date: 9th Nov 2022 @ 7:11pm

This week we have been thinking about Remembrance Day. We thought about what this meant .....

"We look at poppies"
"We remember the soldiers who had died"
"its because the soldiers died"
"we make poppies to remember the soldiers"
"we need to be quiet, for the silence"
"we can make poppys to wear"

We had the opportunity to try on some real medals and a piece of military uniform, we've painted poppy artwork, we've created our own medals and poppy's, we used the talk table to discuss poppy's and soldiers and we also practised our scissor skills and created our own poppy wreaths.

We all had a minutes silence on Friday to remember the fallen soldiers and their families.

Watch the video below with your families - 'Poppies' is a BBC Children’s remembrance animation. The animation sees The Great War experienced by the animal inhabitants of a WW1 battlefield.
