Butterflies!

Date: 9th Jul 2021 @ 11:56am

In reception, we have been raising Caterpillars!

We have observed them start as baby caterpillars, eat lots of food and start spinning their cuccoon.

We discussed the colours of the cuccoon and how it camouflages with the leaves so that animals do not eat them.

We watched as the cuccoon hardened and the butterflies emerged.

We fed the butterflies fruits and nectar (mixture of water and sugar) and watched them fly around their habitat.

We will be releasing them into the wild soon.
