Black History Month P4C

Lesson: History

Class: Year 3 Year: 2019 - 2020

We have been learning about Black History Month during October and we had a Philosophy for Children circle. We discussed how racism has affected football matches in the past, and how this is still an issue today. The children came up with some interesting questions they wanted to discuss and they practised putting their thumbs on their knees to show when they wanted to speak.

"Is it acceptable to have an opinion even if it hurts other peoples' feelings?"

"What if racism never existed?"

"Is it right to always talk about racism in the news?"
