We are scientists!

Date: 7th Feb 2022 @ 4:02pm

Nursery have been scientists this half term. We decided to set up an experiment to test how important it was to wash our hands. We had three slices of bread - 1 was handled with dirty hands, 1 with hands cleaned with sanitiser and 1 with hands washed with soap and warm water!

The children made predictions before we started:

  •  'Maybe it will take 65 years (to go mouldy)'
  • 'All of them will go mouldy'
  • 'Just this (the clean one) will get mouldy because it is all germy'

I've attached pictures of what has happened after 3 weeks! The children were amazed and all enjoyed telling Mr Davis all about our experiment.

  •  'It went mouldy in 5 minutes but not the clean one'
  • 'There are germs on the dirty one'
  • 'You can't eat it. You will get sick and have to go to the doctor'

Ask your child all about our bread experiment.
