Kung Hei Fat Choy! Happy New Year!

This week, we have spent some time learning about Lunar New Year! The children have shown lots of enthusiam for this celebration and we have got lots of language and experiences from it. We have cooked and tasted some traditional Chinese food; practised our fine motor skills by making fans, lanterns and rabbit masks; Chinese writing; we read the Chinese Zodiac story and learnt about the animals racing; in P.E we moved our bodies in different ways and worked together to create our own dragon dance; our home corner had some traditional Chinese crockery and food and finally we made flags to represent the different countries that celebrate Lunar New Year. We have been very busy indeed! We hope your children can share some of their learning with you at home.
