Canal and River Trust Visit

This week year 2 were visited by Katie from the Canal and River Trust, who showed us how to keep safe when near the canals in our local area.

She then showed us how canals like the Rochdale canal were made.

In the afternoon, Katie then took us on a tour of our local canal. We met the lock keepers Ian and Barry.

We helped them open and close the locks and watched the water rise and fall. It was very exciting!
